MapGIS Clinches Honors in Entrepreneurship Category at 10th China Aviation Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition
Nantong, Jiangsu, November 4-5, 2025 – The national finals of the 10th China Aviation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition were held at the Nantong International Convention Center in Jiangsu Province. Co-organized by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), and Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC), among others, the event brought together leading experts, investment institutions, and innovative teams from across the aerospace sector. The focus was on two cutting-edge fields: the low-altitude economy and future airspace, aiming to inject new momentum into the innovation and development of the aerospace industry.

The Low-Altitude Airspace Digital Mapping Systemproject was featured in the Entrepreneurship Category finals for the low-altitude economy sector. MapGIS Vice President Chen Junlin presented the company's technological innovations and practical achievements in this field. He detailed how the project leverages core capabilities like full-space, cross-platform, big data, intelligent analysis, and secondary development. By integrating historical spatiotemporal data and knowledge graphs to construct data relationships, and incorporating Beidou Grid technology, it pioneers a new generation of spatial management. The platform builds a large spatiotemporal model based on this data, effectively supporting multi-source data fusion and automated mapping, thereby providing comprehensive empowerment for low-altitude airspace digitalization.

The project ultimately won the third prize in the Entrepreneurship Category of the national finals. As a leading enterprise in China's GIS sector, MapGIS relies on its full-space platform technology, multi-source data integration capabilities, and intelligent decision-making and security prevention systems to empower various application scenarios in low-altitude airspace mapping and air route management.
Staff at the on-site MapGIS product exhibition area highlighted the company's profound expertise in digital mapping. Key milestones mentioned included breaking through key technologies in 1993 to develop China's first color map editing and publishing system, MapCAD, ushering in a new era of computer cartography in China. The MapGIS software developed in 1995, featuring mapping, spatial information management, and analysis functions, broke the monopoly of foreign GIS software. The product achieved complete domestic sourcing in 2020.

The award-winning project is characterized by:
The self-developed MapGIS platform products already serve national interests and livelihoods in various fields, including smart cities, natural resources, geology, agriculture, forestry, meteorology, transportation, public security, and emergency management. MapGIS stated it will continue to deepen the technical capabilities of its GIS platform and mapping technologies, strengthening its service capacity across various application domains.
